The North Bay Titans travelled with their largest group of swimmers yet to the Dave Kensit A Championships this past weekend in Sault Ste. Marie.
More than 40 Titans' athletes from all age categories qualified with A standard times to attend this 3-day event.
The meet began on Friday evening and went through to late afternoon on Sunday.
The 13 and over swimmers began with preliminary swims and some went on to compete in finals on Saturday evening and Sunday.
The 12 and under aged swimmers competed both Saturday and Sunday in timed finals.
Those 13 and over Titans bringing home medals were Steve Cholette (2 gold, 1 silver), Keltan Baran (2 bronze), Brittany Pask (2 gold, 2 bronze), Jaydan Jackson (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Grace Liritzis (1 silver, 4 bronze), Noah Swain (1 bronze), Caitlyn Jones (1 bronze), Zaffia Laplante (1 bronze), Sierra McCourt (2 bronze), Renee Gagnon (2 bronze), Kristen Gough (1 bronze) and Dylan Jackson (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).
Other Titans competing in Finals were Jacob Brost, Rochelle Leppert, Anisha Bhattacharyya, Jamie Udeschini, Brooklyn Jones, Tessa Steel and Jesse Hives.
Personal best times were also achieved by Chloe Hunt, Quinn Schroeder, Regine Wyss, Megan Zhou, Savanah Thibeault, Angelina Racine, Amy Niemela, Kayley Niemela, Abbey Krajc, Joshua Brost, Sydney Hughes, Kaytlin Legris
Twelve and under Titan swimmers bringing home hardware were Zeyana Laplante (5 gold), Bernard Uys (5 gold, 2 silver), Katie Tripp (1 silver), Hailey Passmore (2 silver) and Chris Uys (1 bronze).
Titans 12 and under going personal best times were Olivia Gagnon, Emily Bolan, Emma Lodge, Leah Dawson, Sofia Berardi, and Rayna Costello.
Special Notes:
• Keltan Baran qualified for his first ever Provincials which takes place in Nepean from February 29th to March 4th.
• Brittany Pask swam a qualifying time for Senior Nationals. This meet will be held this summer.
• Renee Gagnon qualified to swim at Eastern Championships. She joins Brittany Pask, Jaydan Jackson, Sierra McCourt and Dylan Jackson at this National event later this month.
• 13-year-old Jacob Brost swam in his first Finals at A Champs.
• The Titans brought home a 3rd place overall team finish.
• The last weekend in February the North Bay Titans will be hosting their annual Invitational meet which will take place at the YMCA. This meet attracts swimmers from all across Northern Ontario.

More than 60 North Bay Titans swimmers competed last weekend in the Paula Palangio NEOR #3 Developmental two-day meet that was held at CFB North Bay.
Many of the swimmers obtained first place finishes throughout the meet.
Those receiving top honors in their swims were Keltan Baran, Anisha Bhattacharyya, Joshua Brost, Olivia Gagnon, Kristen Gough, Jesse Hives, Zaffia Laplante, Emily Bolan, Kaytlin Legris, Rochelle Leppert, Grace Liritzis, Emma Lodge, Kayley Niemela, Jeremy Sallie, Quinn Schroeder, Tessa Steel, Noah Swain, Katie Tripp, Bernard Uys and Chris Uys.
Second place finishes went to Caitlyn Jones, Sheldon Kilroy, Amy Niemela, Talia Preston, Payton Sproule, Alyssa Stoppa, Brett Stoppa, Jennifer Tripp and Amber Walker. Swimmers finishing the weekend with third place ribbons were Jacob Brost, Aurora Buckley, Robinson Campbell, Rayna Costello, Chloe Hunt, Brooklyn Jones, Abbey Krajc, Meghan Norman, Halle-Jo Steringa, and Alexis Viczian.
Other Titans swimmers achieving personal best times were Melanie Aiton, Xander Barrett, Genevieve Berardi, Sofia Berardi, Amrta Bhattacharyya, Hailey Courtemanche, Leah Dawson, Julie Jonescu, Emma Rose Kehoe, Evan Kilroy, Katelin Leclair, Shiela MacDougall, Aliya Marsh, Ashton Marsh, Hailey Passmore,Emily Redhead, Savanah Thibeault, Maia Uys, Regine Wyss, and Megan Zhou.
This meet was the final chance for those swimmers that needed to better their times in order to qualify for Dave Kensit A Championships and many Titans did just that. A Champs is being held in Sault Ste. Marie in two weeks time.
The last weekend in February the North Bay Titans will be host their annual Invitational meet which will take place at the YMCA. This meet attracts swimmers from all across Northern Ontario.
